Healing the Inner Child: A Journey Back to Authenticity
Today, I wanted to dive into something that’s been on my mind since my recent girls’ trip to the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. You know, those moments of deep connection with my long-time friends always leave me reflecting on how far I’ve come in my healing journey.
Growing up, I didn’t have that close mother-daughter bond or tight sisterly connection many talk about. My girlfriends became my chosen family, guiding me through some of life’s most challenging transitions—divorce, big moves, career changes. This past weekend was such a soul-refreshing experience. It reaffirmed my belief that while life changes, our soul’s essence remains the same. We were talking about breaking personal, societal, and generational limitations, and I couldn’t help but reflect on my journey of healing my inner child and those deep-seated traumas.
One of the biggest takeaways from my journey has been the realization that our limitations fall away when we embrace our authentic selves. For so long, I believed the societal label of having Attention-Deficit would hold me back. It’s funny how those labels push us to force ourselves into molds that just don’t fit. But through twelve years of inner child and trauma healing, I’ve discovered that my true potential shines when I align with my genuine self—no masks, no pretenses.
Society has a funny way of catching up when we stay true to ourselves. When I started as a spiritual coach back in 2012, it wasn’t really a “thing.” Now, here we are in the midst of a paradigm shift toward consciousness and healing. Isn’t it beautiful? More and more of us are waking up to this new way of being that feels so aligned and authentic.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to support your true self. When you do, the universe mirrors that support back to you. It’s like an unspoken contract—when you hold yourself, the universe holds you. And let me tell you, everything that you are and everything that you feel is already perfect. This realization has been a game-changer for me and, I believe, can be for you too.
If you’re feeling the pull to dive deeper into this kind of transformative work, I invite you to join my Inner Work groups. These are small, intimate groups where we dive into the deep healing of our inner child, generational traumas, and so much more. The dynamics of different generations within the group offer profound insights and healing perspectives that are simply priceless.

Meet the Host
Candace Van Dell
As a Spiritual Coach & New Thought Leader, Candace focuses on a soul-centered approach to healing. It is her belief that many of our negative “symptoms” are signs that we are out of alignment with our true selves. We have been conditioned to align with external authorities, societal ideals, out of date learning styles and perfectionistic standards.
We can’t experience or maintain true health unless we are true to ourselves. To clear unwanted symptoms, we must get back into alignment with what we FEEL.
“We are not humans having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience.”
